How sibling sessions are structured
Sibling portraits are some of the most meaningful children’s photographs because they hold relationship as well as appearance. A laugh, a lean, a hand squeeze, an eye roll from the eldest, a cling from the youngest — all of it belongs to the season.
- Start with whichever child settles fastest and build momentum from there.
- Capture the pair or group together, then create space for individual portraits of each child.
- Use prompts rather than rigid posing where possible.
- Expect the children’s dynamic to lead the mood — affectionate, funny, boisterous or gently chaotic.
