Children do not perform on cue, and they should not have to. Our children’s photoshoots in Nottingham are relaxed and unhurried, so your child can simply be themselves. The result is natural photos that show who your child really is, not forced smiles.
Why a child-led photoshoot works better
Most children need a little time before they feel comfortable in a new place with a new person. Rushing that moment is what leads to stiff poses and tired tears. We build every session around your child’s pace, giving them time to explore, play and warm up to the camera before we start guiding any shots.
What happens during the session
We start with a few minutes of play so your child can get to know us. From there we mix gentle prompts with games, songs and plenty of freedom to move. Breaks for snacks, cuddles and wobbles are all part of the plan, never a problem to work around. Parents are welcome to join in for a few shots too.
How to prepare your child
- Book a time that fits around naps and meals.
- Bring a favourite toy, book or comfort item.
- Choose comfortable clothes in soft, simple colours.
- Talk about the shoot as a fun play date, not a performance.
Natural photos you will treasure
Because nobody is forcing a smile, the photos capture real expressions: the giggle, the curious frown, the moment they reach for your hand. These are the images families come back to years later.
